organized a guest lecture on ‘Vermicomposting
Management and Practice’ Under ‘Certificate Course
Vermicomposting’ on 20th September, 2018.
Program was started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Mr. Obaidur Rahman (F.Y.B.Sc.).
Dr. Kalim Shaikh introduced the guest speaker, Dr.D.W.Thawal, Former Associate Dean & Principal College of Agriculture, Shivajinagar, Pune.
Principal, Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh felicitated the invited guest, Dr.D.W.Thawal by presenting him
bouquet. Further, Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh shared their views and
motivated students for earning from vermicomposting practice. Dr.Thawal started his lecture with some
historical idea about relation between Earthworm and Nature. He elaborated many
steps required for proper management and practice of vermicomposting. He also
focused in his lecture on need of vermicomposting for organic farming in
relation with ecofriendly practice. Besides this, Dr. Thawal also shared information of current vermiculture projects
and their success. During the lecture he
also emphasized on how vermicomposting is better for women and they can easily
do it. It is looked that student was more interested and
asked
many queries to guest speaker. The program was concluded with the vote of
thanks proposed by Miss. Noorulain Tadvi. Program compering was performed by
Miss.Noeem Quazi. The overall program was coordinated by Dr. Kalim Shaikh
(Coordinator of Course). Under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Aftab Anwar
Shaikh, Vice Principal Mr. Iqbal Shaikh, and Head Department of Zoology Dr. Mujeeb Shaikh program led to grand success along the great
efforts of all Members of Department namely Mr. Wasim Shaikh, Dr. Shoeb
Ahmad, Mrs. Rukhsar Shaikh, , Mrs. Anjum Pathan, , Miss. Sabeha Kowsar . Last but not least Departmental
non-teaching staff also took efforts for the said program.
