Maaz and Muberra Made Poona College Proud Maaz Shaikh, S.Y.B.Sc. and Muberra Shaikh, M.Sc-I Zoology brought 2 gold and 3 silver medals from 'Zooplanet' Intercollegiate Competition, Organized by Nowrosejee Wadia College, Pune. Maaz won gold medals in Quiz and Seminar and silver medal in Photography. While Muberra got Silver medals in Poster and Seminar Competition. One the Success of Maaz and Muberra Principal Aftab Anwar Shaikh, Vice Principals - Mr. Moinuddin Khan and Mr. Iqbal Shaikh congratulated them for their achievements and also appreciated the efforts of Department of Zoology for grooming the tallent of students.

Research should be beneficial for common man and the Nature : Prof. K. K. Sharma  A two days national seminar was organised by Department of Zoology, Poona College on “Recent Trends in Life Sciences” under the chairmanship of Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh with the financial assitance of Savitribai Phule Pune University. The seminar was held on 4th & 5th of January 2019 and was inaugurated by Dr. Shahid Jameel (Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar award honored by Govt. of India and C .E.O. Wellcome Trust India Alliance). Dr. Shahid Jameel guided about the current research and opportunities in the field of life sciences. The second day of the seminar was concluded by Dr. Krishna Kumar Sharma, former vice chancellor, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer, Rajasthan.
